The Prescription Food Pantry is a program at Community Health Alliance that provides free healthy food to patients who are food insecure. The aim of the pantry is to improve food security, provide nutritious foods needed to have a healthy diet and prevent or aid in the treatment of chronic disease.We are open Monday-Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. and are looking for compassionate, motivated individuals who want to get some experience or want to help the community by volunteering their time.Responsibilities:Unload food shipments, organize pantry, stock shelves and refrigerators Pack grocery bags for pantry clients Help clients get food to their car Requirements to be a volunteer:Bilingual is a plus We are looking for individuals who can contribute three or more per week Able to lift 20-30 pounds Volunteers must onboard with our HR department If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Eva Leon, Health Center Manager at Wells. Assisting or running PE classes for K-5th grades, individual grade levels, with curriculum provided. We provide training session for volunteers so they can better facilitate the classes, most volunteers will be assisting an intern from UNR and we are looking for 2-3 volunteers per hour to work with the program. The PE classes are 30 minutes, per grade, and cover basic fundamentals of sports and physical activity.

The Adopt A Plot program through Hillside Cemetery Preservation Foundation allows volunteers to spend time in this wonderful cemetery, while cleaning and maintaining a specific plot. Volunteers can either chose to maintain a family or single burial plot. HCPF is asking that any volunteers who wish to Adopt A Plot agree to do so for a term of one year.
